Managing Client Access

Client access can be managed using Attachmate Management & Control Services (MCS). MCS is a Web-based server console you can use to centrally manage and configure compatible Attachmate products. MCS provides a common interface for creating and storing configurations for Host Access Server components, such as Presentation Integrator and Terminal Viewers.

MCS also provides secure access to directory services tools for assigning configurations to users and groups, tracing features, and server management features.

From the Terminal Viewers component in MCS, a system administrator can create configurations, and set the permissions for configurations, to control which properties users will be able to change. For example, a system administrator could provide some users with the ability to change their display settings, and prevent some users from modifying file transfer properties.

Note To assign permissions to users, you must have first configured the directory service within MCS.
