Terminal Emulation Java Clients
The Java applets listed below provide terminal emulation through a Web browser. The viewers are installed on a server and downloaded to each client you don't have to install the software at the client. Attachmate offers different viewers for different types of hosts; some viewers support several communication protocols. The options available to you depend on which e-Vantage Host Access Server product, or products, you purchased and installed.
e-Vantage Host Access Server for Unisys Mainframe Customers
With one access code you can install any of the following options:
- T27 Terminal with the TCPA communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to a Unisys ClearPath LX/NX or A Series host, as well as the capabilities to print screen data and to cut, copy, and paste data among different applications.
- T27 Printer with the TCPA communication protocol - Web-based host printing from a Unisys ClearPath LX/NX or A Series host.
- UTS Terminal with the INT-1 and PEPgate communication protocols - Web-based terminal emulation to a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host, as well as the capabilities to print screen data and to cut, copy, and paste data among different applications. If users need to print more than just the current screen data, UTS Terminal Viewer provides Web-based host printing from most host applications on a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host. The configuration of the viewer also affects how host printing operates. For example, the Print Mode option determines how spaces and carriage returns are handled.
- Express Terminals for 3270, 5250, and VT - Although similar to the regular terminals, Express Terminals provide fewer features, and therefore require less processing overhead, which improves download speed.
Each of these selections also installs the configuration components and provide the option to install the design component. See the Configuration and Design Components topic for more information.
e-Vantage Host Access Server for Airlines and Travel Industry
Depending on which products you purchased, you may be able to install one or more of the following options:
- ALC (Airlines Link Control) Terminal with the Galileo Apollo communication protocol - Web-based terminal and printer emulation to an IBM host running TPIF.
- ALC Terminal with the EDS SHARES communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to an IBM host running TPF.
- ALC Terminal with the Sabre communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to a MicroVAX host.
- ALC Terminal with the MATIP for ALC, ALC Terminal with the Lantern Gateway communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to an IBM host running TPF.
- UTS Terminal with the MATIP for UTS communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host running TPF.
- UTS Terminal with the PEPgate communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host running PEPgate.
- UTS Terminal with the INT-1 communication protocol - Web-based terminal emulation to a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host.
- 3270 Terminal - Web-based terminal emulation to an IBM 3270 host, as well as the capabilities to print screen data and to cut, copy, and paste data among different applications.
- 3270 Printer - Web-based host printing from an IBM 3270 host.
- 3270 Express Terminal - Although similar to the regular 3270 Terminal, the 3270 Express Terminal provides fewer features, and therefore requires less processing overhead, which improves download speed.
- e-Print Java Applet - Web-based host printing from an IBM TPF host, Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host, computer reservation system (CRS), or custom application. Configuration of the printer applet determines how printing operates, such as to which host the printer applet connects, which printer is used, and how the print job operates. See the Print Services for Web and Middleware Applications topic for more information.
Each of these selections also installs the configuration components and all but the e-Print products provide the option to install the design component. See the Configuration and Design Components topic for more information.
