Host Access Server includes a Viewer Application Programming Interface (API). Using this API, you can create JavaScript macros for use with T27, UTS, or ALC Terminal Viewer or 3270, 5250, or VT Express Terminal Viewer.
The complexity of the JavaScript macros you write will depend on what you want the macros to accomplish. For example, a simple macro could log a user on to the server, while a complex macro could populate a single field by pulling information from different fields on different pages. For information about the API, refer to the Viewer API Help.
Once you have created the macro, you must publish it to MCS. After you have published the macro, you can map it to a key on a keyboard map or to a QuickPad button. When you assign the keyboard map to a configuration, users can then run the macro by pressing the appropriate key or clicking the appropriate QuickPad button.
Publishing macros, mapping macros to keys or buttons, and assigning keyboard maps and QuickPad buttons can all be done within the configuration pages for your terminal in the Terminal Viewers management component within MCS.
If this documentation is installed on a computer that has the necessary viewers installed, "Component Help" links for these features will appear in the list below, providing access to more information. |
