Authentication Page

Authentication Type: Select your preferred authentication level for users accessing the myAccess Links page.

To require this level of access

No username or password None

A username but not a password Username Only
Both a username and password Username/Password
A client certificate request by Management & Control Services (MCS), which is validated against the certificate authority as well as the directory service used by MCS. If MCS doesn't receive a certificate, the user must provide both a username and password.

This option allows for a gradual migration from username/password to client certificates.

Note If you select None, all users will be able to access all presentations, regardless of which users or groups are assigned to the presentations.

Any username or password provided by the user is validated against the directory service used by MCS.

Save Credentials In Cookie: Saves user authentication information in a cookie on the user's PC. When selected, if the user's browser accepts cookies, the user must log in only when accessing the myAccess Links page for the first time; subsequently, the user can access the page without logging in.

If this option is cleared, or if the user's browser does not accept cookies, the user must log in each time when accessing the myAccess Links page.

Require Encryption: Encrypts the connection between the clients and the server when the clients access the myAccess Links page. This option is recommended if the authentication method includes user names or passwords. When selected, users must type the following to access the myAccess Links page:

When cleared, authorized users are permitted to access the myAccess Links page using either a secure (https:) or an unsecure (http:) connection. The port number in the URL is required only for secure connections.

Session Timeout

The Session Timeout is the length of time that can elapse before the user must restart the browser to access a new presentation. When the session timeout expires, the user can continue to use any presentation that is currently open, but will not be able to refresh the myAccess Links page or access a new presentation without restarting the browser.

Hours: Type the number of hours that can elapse before the user must restart the browser to access a new presentation. This value is combined with the number specified in the Minutes box to determine the total timeout value. For example, if Hours is 2 and Minutes is 30, the user must restart the browser two and a half hours after the last logon.

Minutes: Type the number of minutes that can elapse before the user must restart the browser to access a new presentation. This value is combined with the number specified in the Hours box to determine the total timeout value. For example, if Hours is 2 and Minutes is 30, the user must restart the browser two and a half hours after the last logon.
