For the custom applications to function, you need to assign the presentation to users and activate it using Presentation Manager (accessed through Management & Control Services).
In addition to activating and assigning a presentation to users, you also need to ensure that the back-end is running. To set up the back-end for a custom application, you install Presentation Runtime Service on a Web server. Presentation Runtime Service serves the linked forms that comprise the application.
To provide the data source that the application forms need to access, you install and start the Smart Connector Runtime Service component for the data type that your application requires. Smart Connectors convert data from the native data format to a format accessible by the Presentation Runtime Service.
