Manage Events: Settings Page

File Name: Displays the name of the current log file. You can modify the current file name or enter a new file name for the current log file if necessary. The default file name is EventLog(n), where n is the current version of the file.

When you change the file name, the existing log file is closed and a new log file is created using the name you specify. The new file name you specify remains in effect until it is next modified.

A revision number is automatically appended to the file name you specify; for example, the initial revision number is set to filename(0). When a new file is created, it will be named according to the file name you specify, with the revision number automatically incremented (that is, it will become filename(1), filename(2), etc., up to the maximum number of files you specify).

Max File Size (in MB): Enter the maximum file size for a log file. When a sequential log file reaches the maximum size, the existing file is closed and a new file is created. When a circular log file reaches the maximum size, the file wraps back to the beginning of the current file, overwriting any existing entries.

Max Files to Keep: Enter the maximum number of log files to save. When the number of log files reaches the maximum number, the oldest log file is deleted when the next new log file is created.

File Type: Select one of the following options to specify the type of log file that you want to create.

Refresh: Click this button to display the current log file. If a new log file is created while this page is displayed, refreshing the page ensures that you are viewing the latest log file.

Save: Click this button to save your changes.
