Properties of Windows NT (NTDS) Page

Management & Control Services (MCS) installed under Windows NT Server supports NT Directory Services (NTDS) to provide its user and group list, according the following guidelines:

• The Windows NT server on which MCS is installed must be logged in to the domain that MCS will use to retrieve user and group information. Do not log in to a local account on the MCS server.

• To log on to the Windows NT server to access MCS, you must enable the Act As Part Of The Operating System user right.

• If you are running MCS on an IBM WebSphere application server under Windows NT 4.0 Server, you should install WebSphere using the same user name and password of a domain administrator account in order to use NTDS. Changing the WebSphere password after the WebSphere installation may result in failure to connect to the NTDS server.

Domain Name: Select the domain name (or the name of a trusted domain) to specify the server you are using to provide directory services.

Depending on the security settings of your directory, you may need to provide a valid distinguished name and password of a user who has browser permissions to the directory before you can view the directory.

Distinguished Name: Enter the distinguished name of a user who has browse permissions for the selected directory server. This takes the form: DOMAIN.NAME\USER.ID

Password: Enter the password for the user who has browse permissions for the selected directory server.

OK: Click this button to save your NTDS server configuration settings.

Cancel: Click this button to close the Properties of Windows NT (NTDS) page without saving any changes.
