When the optimize_updates parameter is applied during a define or redefine command, the DSOPT_Use_bi_ai bit is set in all data sets containing secondary OCCURS tables. Setting this parameter to False allows you to override the DSOPT_Use_bi_ai bit during the change tracking phase. Previously, you had to run the generate command to alter the optimization operation. The DSOPT_Use_bi_ai bit is documented under "ds_options" in DATASETS.
