Populating the DATABridge Data TablesBefore you populate the DATABridge data tables, determine if you need to customize the character translation tables or not. If you do, modify the [EbcdictoAscii] section of the client configuration file before you run either the process or clone command. For more information on character translation tables and modifying the configuration file, see [EbcdictoAscii] and Export or Import a Configuration File. You can populate the DATABridge data tables in the relational database using either of the following methods:
The process and clone commands use the relational database bulk loader utility to populate the DATABridge tables. It is recommended that you read one of the previous sections, Oracle SQL*Loader Bulk Loader or Microsoft SQL Server bcp before you use the dbutility clone or dbutility process command. The process command is typically used to populate the data tables. The clone command is a special case of the process command that allows you to clone a small number of data sets without changing the values of the corresponding entries in the active column of the DATASETS client control table. | ||
