Export the Client Configuration to a File

Use this procedure to create a readable copy of the client configuration file. This file contains all of the configuration settings for a data source that were specified from the Client Console and Client Configurator.

On rare occasions, you may need to export this file to change parameters that can't be set in either the Client Console or the Client Configurator.

To export the client configuration file

1. (Optional) To make passwords in the client configuration file unreadable, change the configuration settings. In the Explorer view, right-click the data source and choose Client Configuration. On the left, click Customizing, and select Encode passwords in configuration INI file.
2. In the Explorer view, right-click the data source and choose Advanced > Export Client Configuration.

A new text data source configuration file (dbridge.ini) is created from the binary configuration file (dbridge.cfg).

If you're exporting the configuration file to add parameters that aren't supported in the Client Console, import the file after you make changes to it.
