Because the Administrative WebStation uses JavaServer Pages (JSPs), it must run on a web server that has a servlet runner installed. The servlet runner must conform to the JSP 1.4 specification. The Tomcat web server and servlet runner are included with Host Integrator Server. The Host Integrator setup program installs the Tomcat server and servlet runner, and then installs the Administrative WebStation to run under Tomcat.
For details on how to set up SSL on Tomcat, see the Jakarta Project web site.
If you have a web server that supports servlets, you can configure it to use the Tomcat servlet runner. In addition, you must modify your configuration before you can run JSPs other than those included in Host Integrator over Tomcat. Instructions for doing this as well as for configuring web servers and servlet runners other than Tomcat to work with Host Integrator can be found on the Attachmate technical support web site.
Note: You cannot start Tomcat while the Administrative WebStation is already running, which you might try to do if you've installed Tomcat manually. To resolve this problem, stop the Administrative WebStation, start Tomcat, and then restart the Administrative WebStation.
When the Administrative WebStation is in view mode, the Administrative WebStation session timeout is determined by the servlet runner. By default, the Tomcat servlet runner timeout is set to 30 minutes. To modify the timeout:
