Progress Window and Event Handling

When an event takes more than a half second to complete, a progress window with a Cancel button is displayed. This is the same dialog box displayed for tracking the progress of procedures and operations. In some cases, this dialog box may already be open when the event handling condition occurs.

Pressing Cancel in this dialog box when an event is being processed signals an immediate timeout to the event and begins abort interval processing. An event cannot be directly terminated without also destroying all state information in the script manager.

After you press the Cancel button, the name changes to Abort and waits for the event to terminate. If you press Abort immediately, the abort sequence described in Event Timeout Processing is launched. You can modify the behavior of the progress window; see Show progress details and Close progress window on completion.
