Setting the Default Code Editor

Generated code, by default, is opened in the designer's internal text editor. You can choose to have generated code open automatically in a different code editor or IDE available on your system.

Note If you designate a system editor (like Visual Studio), your options working with the generated code are limited by the capabilities of that editor.
To set the default code editor
  1. From the Window menu, choose Preferences.

  2. From the Preferences list, choose Editor Type.

  3. From the Preferences dialog box, on the Editor Type page, select an editor.
    To
    		 Select
    Use the designer's internal text editor The Text Editor option.
    Use your system's default editor (the one associated with the file type you are generating) The External System Editor option.
  4. Click OK.
