Use the options in the General page to specify an interval for automatically saving ID management data and whether or not you want allocated IDs to be automatically reclaimed by MCS.
To display the General page, choose Services | ID Management | Management Settings.
Delay Automatic Saving: By default, ID management data is saved whenever there is a change. You can improve system performance by delaying saving so that saving occurs less frequently; however, if you delay saving, you risk losing data if you experience a network or computer failure.
Save Interval (min): Specify a time interval for saving ID management data. If you specify 0 (zero) minutes, this option has no effect; that is, saving is not delayed.
Communication Timeout: Set the time interval in minutes that a client must have not responded before its ID is put into quarantine. MCS periodically checks for a response from the client. If the client does not respond for the specified period of time, its ID is put into quarantine.
This option has no effect on IDs in pools for which IDs are leased.
Automatically Reclaim IDs
Automatically Reclaim: Select this option to automatically reclaim IDs that have been quarantined for the specified period of time. You should select this option only if you're sure that quarantined IDs are no longer in use. Otherwise, there is a risk that duplicate IDs will be issued.
If this option is cleared, IDs are never automatically reclaimed, regardless of your selections for other options on this page. You can still manually reclaim individual IDs.
Quarantine Timeout: Set the time interval in minutes that an ID must remain in quarantine before it is eligible to be automatically reclaimed. When an ID is reclaimed, it is made available to be allocated to another client.
