The component used to create tasks is called a task builder. To access your task builder, start Designer Studio.
With Task Builder for IMS, you can import COBOL copybooks that describe the transactions that you want to expose through your custom application. Tasks only expose the data fields that you choose, allowing for security and simplicity within your application.
Once you've created your task, choose the type of interface object you want to work with. Tasks can be contained in XML data files, Java beans, Web services, or .NET remotable objects. Using your task builder, you can generate some kinds of task interface objects, and some kinds can be generated in MCS, after publishing the task from Task Builder to MCS. Either way, once you've generated a task interface object, the next step is to build an application that calls your task interface object.
