System Requirements

For production environments, most users install the various Synapta Services Builder components on separate computers. Specific requirements will vary based on which components of Services Builder are installed, and on other hardware and software components present.

  • In Windows, when you install MCS, the installation process checks for the presence of an existing MCS installation, version 2.2.2 or later. If such an existing installation is present, it is upgraded by the installation process. When installing with UNIX, you must uninstall any existing version before installing your new version.

  • The Attachmate COM interfaces, such as the COM Bridge, COM Proxy Service, and COM object and the .NET Web service components are Windows-based and are not supported on other operating systems.

  • There is a generic J2EE-compliant resource adapter available. J2EE session EJBs and resource adapters are managed and deployed to selected application servers through your Synapta Services Builder management component, MCS.
