Installing in Windows
Management & Control Services (MCS), management components, and runtime services can be installed under Windows or UNIX. Task Builder for IMS, accessed through the Designer Studio, can be installed only under Windows.
The following procedure explains how to install in Windows environments. For information about installing MCS, management components, or runtime services in UNIX environments, see Installing in UNIX.
||Disable any virus-scanning software before beginning any installation. Running virus-scanning software during installation can result in missing or corrupted files, or other installation errors.
|To install Synapta Services Builder components
- If necessary, create your WebLogic domain.
If you use WebLogic, your WebLogic domain must exist before you begin the installation. If you need to create a new domain, do so using one of the methods provided by BEA.
- Insert the product CD into the CD-ROM drive.
If the setup utility does not run automatically, browse to the appropriate folder for your component, and double-click autosetup.exe.
- Review the Getting Started Guide.
The Getting Started Guide provides links to more detailed installation instructions and an overview of Synapta products.
- Select the component you want to install.
After installing your selected component, you can return to this selection screen and install other Synapta components.
- Type the access code for your product, and then click Next.
||The Client Support option is installed via a separate access code. However, during the initial install, the access code field will be pre-populated with the correct code. If you are installing the client support files on a system that has other Attachmate products already installed, you must replace the preset access code with the one provided with Synapta Services Builder for IMS version 3.0.
Access codes are located on the CD package or on the Attachmate Software License Agreement.
- Review the license agreement and, if you agree, select I Accept the Terms of the License Agreement.
- Respond to the subsequent prompts.
For information about the installation prompts, see Installation Prompts for Management Components in Windows.
