To make your IMS tasks accessible to other applications by calling Web services running on an Apache Axis application server.


You'll need to install and configure Apache Tomcat and Axis. Then, using Task Builder for IMS, you can convert your COBOL copybook into a task, and generate Apache Axis Web services. The Task Builder generates an Ant script which you can use to deploy your task; or, you can manually deploy the task to a remote server. Then, once you've deployed, Axis provides a method to generate source code that you can use to access your tasks from other applications.

This How-To assumes that you have installed and configured Task Builder for IMS and have access to an MCS server which has the Synapta Services Builder for IMS management components installed.
