Deploying Web Services Using .NET

When you generate a .NET Web service with Task Builder, .NET creates an installer that you can use to deploy your Web service.

The paths below are for .NET Visual Studio 2002. If you are using .NET Visual Studio 2003, the name of the target directory will be NETTarget2003.

To deploy a .NET Web service
  1. Run the generated installer:
    At this location
    Do this
On the Designer Studio computer Run this file:

    install_directory\Attachmate\EAI\IMSTaskDesigner\
    Continued lineMetaData\task_name\webservice\NETTarget\setup.exe

On a different server than where Designer Studio is installed Copy the contents of the NETTarget folder to the target server and run setup.exe. The NETTarget folder can be found here:

    install_directory\Attachmate\EAI\IMSTaskDesigner\
    Continued lineMetaData\task_name\webservice\NETTarget

  2. Test your Web services deployment by typing the following into the address field of your browser:

    http://server_name/task_name/?wsdl

  3. You can access the .NET Web service by adding a web reference to your Visual Studio project.
