Adding .NET Remotable Objects to .NET Projects

Once you've deployed your .NET remotable object, you need to add it to your .NET Visual Studio project to create an application that lets your users access the host functionality built into your task.

To access a .NET remotable object from your .NET project
  1. Open your Visual Studio project.

  2. Add a reference to task_name.dll.

  3. Add this code to the beginning of your source file:

    using System.Runtime.Remoting
    using task_name

  4. In a "try - catch," reference the Remotetask_nameClient.config file.

  5. Instantiate the remote task object.

  6. Create input objects.

  7. Execute the task.

  8. Get outputs.

    Before you run your application, make sure that IMSConnectorProxy Service is running.

  9. Close the connection.
