Add Task Configuration Page

Task configurations define a relationship between a particular task and an agent cluster, as well as determining the order in which a task will use a particular runtime server in a failover environment. The failover list is also used when you enable load balancing, and is specific to one task/agent cluster combination.

Task/Resource: The name used by a task to access a configuration.

The resource name is the identifer for a particular resource. A task definition references a Host Program Definition and defines the inputs and outputs required to perform a specific task

Add Resource Name: Enter a new resource name to the Task/Resource list. The Task/Resource list contains all the tasks published to a particular MCS machine or cluster.

Agent cluster: A list of all the agent clusters configured in MCS Server Management. If the MCS server is a part of a server cluster, all agent clusters configured by the clustered MCS machines are displayed.

See Managing Agents and Agent Clusters for more information on agent clusters.

Failover and Load Balancing

Registered runtime servers: A list of all runtime servers registered under Deployments/Registered Runtimes. Select a runtime server to add to the failover list for a particular client task.

Add: After selecting a runtime server, click Add to move the server to the failover list.

Remove: Select a runtime server from the Failover list, click Remove to return it to the Registered runtime server list.

Failover/Load Balancing list: A list of runtime servers used for the failover configuration and load balancing for the selected task. The order that the runtime servers are displayed in the list is the order in which servers are used in a failover situation.

Up: Use this button to move a server up the list, thus placing it earlier in the failover order.

Down: Use this button to move a server down the list, thus placing it later in the failover order.

Enable load balancing: Select Enable load balancing to turn on load balancing for this task. When the checkbox is cleared, load balancing is disabled.
