Editing IDs

If they are not currently in use, you can edit ID properties, move IDs from one pool to another, and delete existing IDs.

To edit ID properties
  1. In the MCS left pane under Services, choose ID Management.

  2. Under ID Management, choose Configure IDs.

  3. In the MCS right pane, select an existing ID from the table.

  4. Click your right mouse button to display the shortcut menu, and then choose ID Properties.

    -or-

    From the toolbar, choose .

  5. In the ID Properties dialog box, make changes as required.

    For information about the options in this dialog box, choose Help.
To move an ID from one pool to another
  1. In the MCS left pane under Services, choose ID Management.

  2. Under ID Management, choose Configure IDs.

  3. In the MCS right pane, select one or more IDs in an existing pool, right-click to display the shortcut menu, and then choose Move ID.

    -or-

    From the toolbar, choose .

  4. In the Move ID dialog box, select the pool to which you want to move these IDs, and choose OK.

    The IDs are moved to the selected pool, and you can edit their properties as required.

    Only IDs that are currently not allocated can be moved. If you have selected allocated IDs, they are not moved. If the IDs are allocated but not actually in use, you may need to manually reclaim them.
To delete an ID
  1. In the MCS left pane under Services, choose ID Management.

  2. Under ID Management, choose Configure IDs.

  3. In the MCS right pane, select one or more IDs in an existing pool, right-click to display the shortcut menu, and then choose Delete ID.

    -or-

    From the toolbar, choose .

    Only IDs that are currently not allocated can be deleted. If you have selected allocated IDs, they are not deleted. If the IDs are allocated but not actually in use, you may need to manually reclaim them.
