Installing MCS in Windows

Management & Control Services (MCS) can be installed under Windows or UNIX. The following procedure explains how to install MCS in Windows environments.

Note If you use WebLogic, your WebLogic domain must exist before you begin the installation. If you need to create a new domain, do so using one of the methods provided by BEA.
Caution Disable any virus-scanning software before beginning the installation. Running virus-scanning software during installation can result in missing or corrupted files, or other installation errors.
To install MCS
  1. Insert the product CD into the CD-ROM drive.

    If the setup utility does not run automatically, browse to the appropriate folder for your component, and double-click autosetup.exe.

  2. Review the Getting Started Guide.

    The Getting Started Guide provides links to more detailed installation instructions and an overview of the product.

  3. Select Install MCS.

  4. After the installation starts, type the access code for MCS, and then click Next.

    The access code is located on the CD package or on the Attachmate Software License Agreement.

  5. Review the license agreement and, if you agree, select I Accept the Terms of the License Agreement, and then choose Next.

  6. Respond to the subsequent prompts.
