Installing from Tape or Disk

You can install the TCP/IP connectivity software from tape or disk on an OS/390 server or from the CD. See Installing from the CD on an OS/390 Server for instructions on that process.

To install from tape or disk
  1. To unload jobs, update and run the following JCL:

  2. Build the SMP/E environment by updating the restored XT5SMPBL member, following the change specifications at the beginning of the member. Save and submit the job.

  3. To receive the product, update the restored XTR5RECV member, following the change change specifications at the beginning of the member. Save and submit the job.

  4. Apply the product by uploading the restored XT5APPLY member, following the change specification at the beginning of the member. Save and submit the job.

    This job will end with a condition code of 0. Message GIM32913I with a return code of 4 from link edit processing to the SMPLTS is normal and may be ignored.

    Note Verify the the loadlib to which the CICS modules are loaded is in the CICS loadlib concatenation. See your CICS DD DFHRPL.
  5. To accept the product, update the restored XT5ACCPT member, follow the change specifications at the beginning of the member, and save and submit the job.

  6. Customize the Analyzer Control Template using the XTR5S001 macro embedded in the restored XT5UANLZ member.

  7. Modify the following:

    2. Follow the change specifications at the beginning of the member
    3. Save and submit the job
    Server Control Template (SCT)
    • Use the XTR5S003 macro embedded in the restored XT5USRVR member to customize the SCT.

    CICS Server installation options
    1. Modify the XT5USRVR member
    2. Follow the change specifications at the beginning of the member
    3. Save and submit the job

    To modify options from a previous APPLY, uncomment the REDO parameter. On the APPLY statement, modify the REWORK parameter provided to a larger number than that used on the prior APPLY, then save and resubmit the job.
