Configure Traces Page

Configured Traces: A list of the traces that have been defined (configured) within Management & Control Services (MCS).

• Component—Displays the name of the product for which the trace was configured.

• Cluster/Machine—Displays either the name of the server cluster (if the trace was defined for an entire cluster) or a computer (if the trace was configured for a specific computer only).

• Style—Indicates whether the trace was configured to trace a single component only (component), or to trace a transaction across a series of two or more components (end-to-end).

• Status—Indicates whether the configured trace is currently active, meaning it is being updated with new trace events. Possible values are Started (configured trace is currently active) or Stopped (configured trace is not currently active).

Start: Select a trace from the Configured Traces list that currently has a status of "Stopped" and then click this button to restart the trace.

Stop: Select a trace from the Configured Traces list that currently has a status of "Started" and then click this button to stop the trace.

Clear Buffer: Select a trace from the Configured Traces list and then click this button to clear the buffer of any information that has been logged for the selected trace.

New: Display the New Trace dialog box to configure a new trace.

Custom: Select a trace from the Configured Traces list and then click this button to customize the type of information that is to be traced for the corresponding component.

This option is available only for components that provide custom trace options; otherwise, it is unavailable.

Save: After creating one or more new traces, click this button to save those traces.

Delete: Select a trace from the Configured Traces list and then click this button to delete the trace.
