Using Task Builder for Screens to access host data and other screen elements, you can create specific tasks that, once published, are used to build business applications. Task Builder accesses the host through a design-time host connection.
The following links take you to basic Task Builder procedures:
Creating tasks is a two step process; first, you record the necessary navigation steps, and then you define the task inputs and outputs necessary to access host data.
You test the task after you have finished creating it in order to verify that you are obtaining the expected data.
Tasks can be contained in Java beans, Web services, and XML files. Task interface objects are generated for each task in your project. A task interface object provides a way for applications to interact with your task programmatically.
When you publish tasks to Management & Control Services (MCS), your NavMaps, their associated tasks, and interface objects are made available for session pool configuration and centralized management. They also become available to other designers and developers.
