Walk-Through: Defining Host Access Tasks

The component used to create tasks is called a task builder. To access your task builder, start Designer Studio.

With Task Builder for Screens, you can connect to the host and record the navigation steps required to access the host data and functionality that you want to expose through your custom application. Tasks only expose the data fields that you choose, allowing for security and simplicity within your application.

Once you've created your task, choose the type of interface object you want to work with. Tasks can be contained in Java beans, Web services, and XML files. Using your task builder, you can generate the task interface objects that make your task available to your business applications. The next step is to build an application that calls your task interface object.
