Replication and Deployment Prompts

The following list describes the prompts that are displayed when you run the scripts to replicate and deploy run-time servers for run-time stacking. Some of the prompts are displayed only during replication and others only during deployment; however, many are displayed during both replication and deployment. For these, values you specify during replication are used as default values during deployment.

Where is Attachmate software installed?: Specify the full path to the location of the installed Runtime Service. This prompt is displayed only during replication.

What would you like to name the archive?: Specify a name for the tar ball that will be created by the replication process. This prompt is displayed only during replication.

What is the name and location of the archive?: Type the full path to the archive created by the replication process. This prompt is displayed only during deployment.

Install destination of this runtime?: Specify a directory in which to install this instance of the Runtime Service. This prompt is displayed only during deployment.

Would you like to configure this install?: This prompt is displayed only during deployment. If you plan to deploy more than one instance of the Runtime Service on a single computer or if you want to change any of the configuration options specified during replication, type Yes. If you intend to deploy only one additional instance of the Runtime Service and you are satisfied with the configuration options specified during replication, type No.

What is the location of the JDK?: Specify the location of a supported Java 2 SDK.

What RMI port would you like this runtime to listen to?: Each instance of the Runtime Service must listen on a unique and available RMI port.

What Runtime ID Name would you like to assign to this runtime?: Specify a unique name for this instance of the Runtime Service. This name is used to filter logged events in MCS.

MCS IP address?: Specify the host name or IP address of the MCS server that this instance of the Runtime Service will use for event logging and session pools.

MCS Port?: Type the port number for the MCS server you specified.

User to assign files to?: Specify the name of the user to whom you want to assign file ownership.

Group to assign files to?: Specify the group to which the user belongs.
