Goal

A Synapta Services Builder task can provide specific host access functionality to your custom application. For example, a task can login to the host, navigate to a specified screen, and bring back data from a specified field.

Method

Using Task Builder for Screens, you can record a path to one or more host screens and define the inputs and outputs needed to create a task. There are different types of tasks and navigation challenges that may occur, but this How-To covers just the basic procedure. See the Creating Tasks section of this guide for more detailed information.

Before You Start

This How-To assumes that you have installed Task Builder for Screens and know the address of the host you want your task to access.

Steps

Following are the main steps you need to complete for this How-To:

  1. Create a new project.

  2. Record a task.

  3. Define the task inputs and outputs.

  4. Test your new task.
