Host: VT Display Settings: Keyboard Page

Use the options on the Keyboard page to identify and change the function of many keys on your keyboard.

VT Key Overrides

You can modify the keystrokes that are sent to the screen or the host when you press one of the following keys.

VT Key
Possible Overrides
F1 key Hold:  Stop text scrolling when you press the F1 key.
Fkey:  Send the VT F1 function key sequence when you press the F1 key.
Ignore:  Do nothing when you press the F1 key.
F2 key Print: Perform VT print functions when you press the F2 key.
Fkey: Send the VT F2 function key sequence when you press the F2 key.
Ignore: Do nothing when you press the F2 key.
F3 key Setup: Perform the Setup function when you press the F3 key (equivalent to pressing ALT).
Fkey: Send the VT F3 function key sequence when you press the F3 key.
Ignore: Do nothing when you press the F3 key.
F4 key Esc: Send the Escape code when you press the F4 key.
Fkey: Send the VT F4 function key sequence when you press the F4 key.
Ignore: Do nothing when you press the F4 key.
F5 key BREAK: Send a break signal when you press the F5 key.
Fkey: Send the VT F5 function key sequence when you press the F5 key.
Ignore: Do nothing when you press the F5 key.
Backspace Delete:  Send the DEL character when you press the BACKSPACE key.
Backspace:  Send the send the BS character when you press the BACKSPACE key.

Editpad Arrangement

Select the layout of the six editing keys.

If selected, this option...
Does this...
System default arrangement Uses the six editing keys for their PC functions (PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, and so on).
VT-like arrangement Uses the six editing keys for their VT functions (REMOVE, NEXT, and so on).

Keypad Mode

Select what the keypad keys send when pressed.

If selected, this option...
Does this...
Numeric Sends the ASCII code of the numbers shown on the keycaps (default).
Note By default, the numeric keypad ENTER key has the same function as the main ENTER key. To use the keypad ENTER key as a distinct keypad ENTER key, you must select Numeric.
Application Sends control sequences when the numeric keypad keys are pressed.

Cursor Key Mode

Select what the cursor (ARROW) keys send when pressed.

If selected, this option...
Does this...
Numeric Sends ANSI cursor control sequences.
Application Sends control functions.

User Defined Keys

Displays the UDKs dialog box in which you can assign character strings to the SHIFT+F6 through SHIFT+F20 key combinations called user defined keys (UDKs). Normally, the host assigns values to the UDKs.
