UTS Connection Settings: Connection Page

In order to connect to a host, you must configure at least one connection.

Connections: This lists the connections that currently exist.

When you create a UTS configuration for the first time, this list includes two predefined entries: DCP and HLC. However, these predefined entries do not include a host address. You must click the connection name and then type the IP address or domain name of a Distributed Communications Processor (DCP) or Host LAN Controller (HLC) in the Host Address box in order to complete the configuration of these predefined entries. You might also have to change the Connection Type.

If you do not want to use the predefined connections, you can delete them and create new connections.

When you click a connection name in this list, the page displays the configuration settings associated with that connection.

Click New to create a new connection and Delete to remove a selected connection.

Note If you delete a connection that is being used by an environment, you will not be able to save the configuration until you select a different connection for that environment on the Environment page.

Host Address: Type the IP address or domain name of the DCP or HLC.

Connection Type: Choose the option that indicates how to connect to the host:

If you use this
Choose this
A DCP that can only accept host connection requests DCP-Gateway Mode
A DCP that can accept host connection requests and initiate host connection requests at other DCPs or HLCs DCP-IP Router Mode
An HLC HLC
