T27 Connection Settings: Character Interpretation Page

DC1 Interpretation: Choose the action that the session should take when it receives a DC1 character from the host.

To
Choose this
Keep the session in receive mode Stay In Receive

If you choose Stay In Receive, the session stays in receive mode even if Receive Mode Hold is cleared.

Clear the page from home to the end of the line where the cursor is located Clear Line

DC2 Interpretation: Choose the action that the session should take when it receives a DC2 character from the host.

To
Choose this
Switch from forms mode to nonforms mode, or from nonforms mode to forms mode if at least one unprotected field exists on the page Toggle Forms
Stay in the current mode and move the Datacomm pointer forward one space Advance DCP

CR Interpretation: Choose what the session should insert in the session window when it receives a CR character from the host.

To insert this
Choose this
A carriage return CR Only
A carriage return and a line feed CR + LF

The best option for your session depends on how your host application formats its transmissions. For example, an application might transmit both CR and LF characters. If you click CR + LF, there would be two line feeds after each carriage return (one sent by the host and one inserted by the session).

LF Interpretation: Choose what the session should insert in the session window when it receives an LF character from the host.

To insert this
Choose this
A line feed LF Only
A carriage return and a line feed CR + LF

The best option for your session depends on how your host application formats its transmissions. For example, an application might transmit both CR and LF characters. If you choose CR + LF, there would be two carriage returns and a line feed (one sent by the host and one created by the session).

Receive Mode Hold: Select this option to have the session remain in receive mode after receiving a message from the host.

If you clear this option, the session switches to local mode after receiving a message.

Note If the value for DC1 Interpretation is Stay In Receive, the session stays in receive mode even if you clear Receive Mode Hold.

SOH Clears Screen: Select this option to clear the page containing the cursor when the session receives an SOH character from the host. (This occurs only if the session is in nonforms mode, or if the session is in forms mode and SOH Exits Forms is also selected. If the session is in forms mode and SOH Exists Forms is cleared, no data is cleared from the page.)

If you clear this option, the session does not clear the page when it receives an SOH character.

SOH Exits Forms: Select this option to exit forms mode when the session receives an SOH character from the host.

If you clear this option, the session does not exit forms mode when it receives an SOH character.

This option applies only when the session is in forms mode.

ETX Advance: Select this option to move the Datacomm pointer one position to the right of the ETX (end-of-text) location when the session receives an ETX character (ETX Character) from the host.

If you clear this option, the session moves the Datacomm pointer to the ETX location.

Forms Transmit To Cursor: Select this option to transmit all transmittable fields between home and the cursor position when the session is in forms mode.

If you clear this option, the session transmits all transmittable fields on the page.

Line At A Time Transmit: Select this option to transmit only the line containing the cursor. This option does not affect the TransmitLine command. That command always transmits only the line containing the cursor. See T27 Keystrokes, in the Related Topics list, for more information on the TransmitLine command.

If you clear this option, the session transmits the entire page.

Raw 8-Bit Data: Select this option to transmit extended characters to the host and preserve the values above ASCII 127.

If you clear this option, the session transmits extended characters as 7-bit characters.

Enable Mobile Home: Select this option to allow host sequences to set a mobile home.

If you clear this option, any host sequence that sets a mobile home is ignored.
