Import Task: Task Import Options Dialog Box

The task import options are the default settings used when you import a task. This dialog box is available from each page of the wizard. You can change these options for each project you are working on, however, import option changes will not take effect until you restart the wizard.

To display the Task Import Options dialog box, from the File menu, choose Import Task, and select Options.

Task name conflicts:  From the drop-down list, select how you want to resolve conflicts created when importing tasks that have the same name as tasks in the existing project. You can import tasks as new tasks or have them replace existing tasks.

This option	Does this
Import tasks as new	Tasks are added to the existing project. The task's name will be amended using the default renaming extension specified on this page. For example, if the renaming extension is _new, then the imported task will be named task_new.
Replace existing tasks	Tasks imported with the same name as tasks in the existing project will overwrite the original tasks.

Screen name conflicts:  From the drop-down list, select how you want to resolve conflicts created when importing screens that have the same name as screens in tasks within the existing project. You can import screens as new screens or have them replace existing screens.

This option	Does this
Import screens as new	Screens contained in the imported task are added to the existing project. The screen names will be amended using the default renaming extension specified on this page. For example, if the renaming extension is _new, then the imported screen will be named screen_new.
Replace existing screens	Screens imported with the same name as screens in the existing project will overwrite the original screens.

Unused screens: You can choose to remove unused screens by default. When you import a task that is replacing an existing task, unused screens often remain. Typically, you can safely remove all unused screens from your project.

If you choose to not remove screens by default, you can select screens individually to be removed on the Remove Unused Screens page of the wizard.

Rename using this extension:  Type the extension you want added to task and screen names when importing.

For example, if you specify the renaming extension as _new, then the imported task or screen will be named task_new or screen_new.
