Add Tests Dialog Box

From the Add Tests dialog box, you can build condition tests. To evaluate a condition, you would build a test that compares two operands. Either operand can be compared with a constant that you define, by right-clicking the selected data element and choosing Compare with Constant.

Note When using constants, do not use the following characters: +, -, \, /, (, ), or '. These characters are treated in a special way by the expression evaluator and cannot be used as part of constant values in a test condition of a decision branch step or a loop step.

Operand 1

Lists the data elements (items to be compared) on the current form. These include:

Items that appear in this list are the same as in Operand 2. Select one item from this list and from Operand 2 to compare them as part of your conditional expression.

Properties button: Displays the properties for the selected item. If there are no associated properties, this button is unavailable.

Screen Image Pane

Displays the selected screen image, based upon your selection under Eligible Data.

If you select, under either Operand list
This results
The current form A representation of that form is displayed within this pane. Any unprotected fields that were automatically created when the form was generated will be available, together with any controls accepting input that you may have added.
The current host application screen (indicated by an icon showing a green screen) A representation of that screen is displayed within this pane, providing an easy method for you to view the fields you can select, and a way to create your own fields.

Show User Fields: If selected, all user-defined fields on the host screen appear framed in light blue (cyan). If a Host Application screen is not selected, this option does not appear.

Show Host Fields: If selected, all host fields on the host screen appear framed in dark blue. If a Host Application screen is not selected, this option does not appear.

Create New User Field button: When selected, drag the pointer to select a new user-defined field. If a Host Application screen is not selected, this option does not appear.

Host Field/User Field list box: Displays the name of the selected field and allows you to select from complete field list. If a Host Application screen is not selected, this option does not appear.

Delete Selected User Field button: Removes the selected user-defined field from the host screen and list box. If a Host Application screen is not selected, this option does not appear.

Add button: If you have selected an item from both Operand lists, choose to add the comparison to the Condition Items list.

Condition Items

Displays the comparisons that have been created and that define the condition that will be evaluated by the current Decision Branch or Loop action.

Operand 2

Lists the data elements (items to be compared) on the current form. Items that appear in this list are the same as in Operand 1. Select one item from this list and from Operand 1 to compare them as part of your conditional expression.

Properties button: Displays the properties for the selected item. If there are no associated properties, this button is unavailable.
