ID Properties Dialog Box

To display the ID Properties dialog box for a selected ID, right-click the selected ID to display the shortcut menu, and then choose ID Properties.

The ID Properties dialog box can also be displayed by choosing the ID Properties toolbar button.

ID Properties

Some ID properties, such as host mappings, are common to all ID types, while some properties vary, depending on the ID type. ID properties for directory services IDs cannot be edited.

ID Names: Displays a list of ID names in the current pool. To modify properties for a different ID, select an ID from this list.

ID Name: Displays the name of the selected ID. You can type a new name to rename the ID. The name cannot include spaces or commas. Depending on your host type, there may be additional naming restrictions.

Host Type: Select a host type from the drop-down list of available types. The host type you select determines the connection data that is provided for this ID and the ID Types available. For more information, see Configuring IDs.

ID Type: The values displayed in this list depend on the selected host type.

Terminal: Available with most host types. For T27, this is a direct connection.

Printer: Available with most host types. For T27, this is a direct connection.

Gateway: Available only if T27 is selected under Host Type. This ID type is used for SNA Gateway connections.

Application: Available only if UTS is selected under Host Type. For UTS sessions, you must select this value.

Host Name: Limit the use of this ID to the selected host or hosts. To add to the list of available hosts, choose the browse button [...] to display the Host Mappings dialog box. If no host is selected, the ID can be used with any host.

Pool Name: Displays the name of the pool with which this ID is associated.

Applications: For UTS IDs, displays the applications with which this ID can be used. Available only when Application is selected under ID Type. To add applications to the list, choose the browse button [...] to display the Applications dialog box.
