Note
  • In Windows, when you install MCS, the installation process checks for the presence of an existing MCS installation, version 2.2.2 or later. If such an installation is present, the installation process upgrades it. When installing with UNIX, you must uninstall any existing version of MCS before installing your new version.

  • Only SDK versions earlier than 1.4.2_02 are supported for upgrades in a Windows installation. When installing in UNIX, you must uninstall any existing version before installing your new version. However, during installation you can specify the location of a different version 1.4.2_02 SDK.

  • With a WebSphere application server, only upgrades are supported.

  • If you use HTTP Engine and IIS redirection, IIS must be configured to both run on and use port 80.

  • If the Java plug-in is not already installed, you will be prompted to install the plug-in when you attempt to run the MCS console. If you continue, MCS installs the plug-in for you.

  • The Java platform does not support 16-color displays. Any Presentation Builder component that requires Java will require at least 256-color support.

  • The minimum screen resolution setting is 1024 x 768 pixels.
