Restoring Data from an Earlier Version on UNIX

Before you can install this version of Presentation Builder, you must uninstall any older version. Although you will have to do some reconfiguration, some data from the older version can be retained.

To restore data from an earlier version when installing in UNIX
  1. Before uninstalling your older version, back up the following directories and files:
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/components/ApplicationRenderer/PicassoApplet.js 
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/pbclient
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/epi/WEB-INF/config
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/WEB-INF/data/directoryservices/mcsdirectory/atmfs.xml
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/WEB-INF/data/mcs/idmanager/serverdata.xml
    
  2. Stop the application server and the MCS agent.
    To stop
    Do this
    Attachmate HTTP engine Run ./httpengine.sh stop
    MCS agent Type the following:

    kill `cat /opt/Attachmate/EAI/Common/mcs/mcsserviceagent.pid

  3. Remove or rename the /opt/Attachmate directory.

  4. Install the new version.

  5. Stop the application server and the MCS agent.

  6. If you made changes to the previous version of any of the files in the following directories, open the newly installed version of the file and, using the previous version as reference, update the file with your changes.
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/components/ApplicationRenderer/PicassoApplet.js 
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/pbclient
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/epi/WEB-INF/config/rtservices.xml 
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/epi/WEB-INF/config/codertable.xml
    
  7. Copy the following files from the backup location to the new install.
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/WEB-INF/data/directoryservices/mcsdirectory/atmfs.xml
    /HTTPEngine/webapps/mcs/WEB-INF/data/mcs/idmanager/serverdata.xml
    
  8. Restart the application server and the MCS agent.
