Creating or Editing a UTS Environment

You can create, modify, or delete a UTS environment when you create or modify a UTS configuration. Presentation Designer includes a predefined environment (UDSSRC). This environment does not specify the connection to use. Before you can use the predefined environment, you must complete its configuration by modifying it to specify a connection.

Changes you make to an environment take effect the next time the environment is initialized (for example when you disconnect or reconnect the session or access a different environment and then return to the modified one).

To create a UTS environment
  1. Create or modify a UTS configuration.

  2. On the UTS Connection Settings - Environments page, click New.

  3. In the New Environment dialog box, type the $$OPEN name that you will use to access the host application (up to 12 characters), and then click OK.

    For example, to access the host application by typing $$OPEN MAPPER, type MAPPER.

  4. In the UTS Connection Settings - Environments page under Environments, select the name of the environment that you just created, and specify other options as required.

  5. Click OK.

To edit an existing environment
  1. Select the environment name in the Environments list and make changes as desired.

  2. Click OK.

    Changes you make to environments or connections are saved globally, and reflected in both the current project and in any new project in which they are used. Existing projects (other than the current project) will not be updated to use the new values.
