To connect to a Unisys ClearPath IX or 2200 Series host, you create one or more configuration files that can be used with multiple Presentation Builder sessions. You could create one configuration that obtains its terminal ID from Management & Control Services (MCS) and another in which you specify a terminal ID to use. After you specify a configuration file to use in a project, it is saved as part of that project.
The number of configurations you create might also depend on the number of hosts you want to access and the number of translation tables that you use. For example, if you create two Presentation Builder applications, one for a French host application, and another for a German host application, you'd also need to create two configurations — one that uses a French translation table, and a second that uses a German translation table.
When you create a configuration, you must specify an environment. When you connect to the host, you can switch to a different host application by typing $$OPEN and the environment name.
An environment is a named set of the following configuration options:

Presentation Builder includes default environments and connections that you can use or modify to suit your needs. You can also create new environments and connections.
