Managing Forms

Once you have created your project and added some forms, you can rename, delete, or reset those forms using commands from the Form menu. These commands are only available when the Customize page is active.

To rename a form
  1. Open your project in Presentation Designer, and click the Customize tab.

  2. In the Project pane, on the Forms tab for your application, select the form you want to rename.

  3. From the Form menu, choose Rename, or right-click the selected form and choose Rename.

The Rename Form dialog box is displayed.

  4. Enter the new form name. Forms can be renamed using international characters, for example, the German umlaut, the French accent mark, and the Spanish tilde.

  5. Click OK.
Note You can change the name of a form using the Form Name text box. However, this is not the same as using Save As: when you specify a different name for the form, it is renamed — the old version of the form does not remain on your disk under the old name.
To remove a form
  1. Open your project in Presentation Designer, and click the Customize tab.

  2. In the Project pane, on the Forms tab, select the form you want to remove.

  3. From the Form menu, choose Delete.

    - or -

  1. In the Project pane, right-click the selected form, and choose Delete.

  2. In the Delete Form dialog box, choose Yes or No.

Forms in the Project Pane

Under the User Defined node, the names that appear are those you typed into the Form Name dialog box as you created them. The New Form icon is displayed to the left of the name. You can select the User Defined node and right-click to sort the forms in ascending or descending alphabetical order.

Under the Host node, the form names for active host session screens are based on the screen names of the active session. The first form is displayed with the screen-based icon to the left of the form name, and the active host session icon (a lightning bolt) to the right. As you navigate through host screens, the lightning bolt indicates the current active screen.
