Sending AID Keys from Events

You can create events that specify a cursor location on a host screen, enter data into that location, and then send an AID key to the host. By including several Sendkey actions in an event, you can create a sequence of actions that skip screens with other actions mixed in, all associated with one event (such as a click of a button). For another way to skip screens, see Skipping Host Screens.

To send an AID key to the host when an event is run
  1. Create an event, and add a Sendkey action to it.

  2. Under Sendkey Properties, from the Send AID Key to this Host list box, select the host to which you want to send an AID key.

  3. Under Sendkey Properties, from the Send AID Key to this Screen list box, select the host screen to which you want to send an AID key.

The list includes only screens to which you have navigated. If the screen you want is not on this list, select Unknown. However, you must select a specific screen from this list to enable the Set Cursor Position and Assign Field Data buttons.

  4. Under Sendkey Properties, from the AID Key to be Sent list box, select the AID key that you want to send to the host.

  5. (Optional performance enhancement) Under Sendkey Properties, from the Expected Screen list box, select the host screen that you expect to result from this action.

The list includes only screens to which you have navigated. If the screen you want is not on this list, select Unknown.

Note If you can select the correct screen, this event will run faster.
