Red Hat 5The Red Hat 5 desktop is configured to use SCIM (Smart Common Input Method), and all GTK (GNOME Toolkit) applications use SCIM by default. To be able to use your local IME with these clients, you need to configure them to use the X Input method (XIM). You can configure clients to use XIM by using a context menu that allows you to change the input method, however the context menu is not available by default.
