Reflection Administrator 9.5 consists of the following components:
- The Reflection management server includes the Administrative WebStation,
a self-contained web site you use to configure Reflection sessions, and the
Java applets you use to deploy Reflection terminal sessions to your users.
This component is installed on a web server and is required.
- The optional security proxy server component enables encrypted data connections
to host computers from Reflection sessions.
- The optional metering server component is installed on a web server to track and compile statistics about the
number of users running Reflection terminal sessions.
Installation Options
For each Reflection component, you can use either the
automated installer
or the archive
files to manually install the component.
Follow these guidelines for installing each component:
- The Reflection management server must be installed. The security
proxy and metering components are optional and can be installed on the same
computer at the same time as the management server, or on different computers.
- Close down any Reflection Administrator component running on the computer
before installing.
- Run any of the Reflection Administrator installers from the computer to which
you are installing the product.
- Make sure that you have the necessary permissions to install components
on the target server.
- If you plan to use X.509 client certificates or secure LDAP access control,
make sure the account used to run the management server has permission to
write to the Java SDK certificate authority certificates file (cacerts).
