Syntax

Object.PassthroughAuthentication
Object.PassthroughAuthentication =
Value

Data type

Boolean

Description

For username@servername style passthrough servers, returns (first syntax line) or specifies (second syntax line) whether the FTP Client sends a command to log into the passthrough server prior to sending the FTP user name and FTP server name used to open a connection on an FTP server. If the username@servername style passthrough server is set up to authenticate the user on the passthrough server prior to opening a connection to an FTP server, set this property to True.

When PassthroughAuthentication is set to False, the FTP Client sends the current FTP settings for UserName and SiteName to the passthrough server set with PassthroughServerName. This information is sent in the format: username@servername. The passthrough server uses this information to open a connection to the specified FTP server.

When PassthroughAuthentication is set to True, the FTP Client sends a command to log into the passthrough server specified in PassthroughServerName. The login command provides the user name and (if saved) the password on the passthrough server, based on PassthroughUserName and PassthroughPassword. Once the user is authenticated on the passthrough server, the FTP Client ends the current FTP settings for UserName and SiteName to the passthrough server. This information is sent in the format: username@servername. This setting is ignored if ProxyServer is not set to rcPassthroughServer or if PassthroughServerStyle is set to rcSITE_SERVERNAME.

Values
