DefaultPorts Property

Gets or sets a value that specifies whether the terminal attempts to communicate with the host transaction programs using the default port numbers (as defined by IBM).

Property Value

If this property is set to false, the terminal attempts to discover the available ports, resulting in a small increase in connecting time.

Attachmate.Reflection.SecuredSettingException This exception is thrown when you modify a property that was secured via the Permissions Manager or that can only be modified by an Administrator.

This property is relevant for 5250 file transfer over TCP/IP.

The default port numbers as defined by IBM are shown below:

Server Default Port
Central server 8470
Database server 8471
Sign-on server 8476
File transfer server 8478
