Set up Reflection on a Citrix Presentation Server

You can install and publish Reflection to a Windows 2003 Terminal Server with Citrix Presentation Server 4.5.

Notes: Before installing Reflection:

  • Make sure Citrix is installed and configured in your network environment. For information about implementing a Citrix server and installing and publishing applications in a Citrix Presentation Server environment, refer to the Citrix documentation.
  • Close all applications.

To install Reflection on Citrix

  1. From your Windows 2003 Server console, log in as an Administrator.
  2. From the Windows Add/Remove Programs Control Panel, click Add New Programs and then click CD or Floppy.
  3. When prompted to Run Installation Program, browse to Setup.exe and double-click the file.
  4. If you are installing from a network location, use a UNC path (for example, \\server_name\path) to access the installation files, instead of a mapped drive letter. (Installing from a mapped drive may generate a Microsoft Windows installation error similar to the following: "Error 2755. The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package.")
  5. When the Attachmate Installation Program opens, carefully read all messages, warnings, and instructions presented, and then click Continue.
  6. As per the instructions from the installer, specify settings for the following:

    On this tab

    Do this

    User Information

    For VPA Number, enter your volume purchase agreement (VPA) number.

    File Location

    Accept the default install location.

    Feature Selection

    Accept the default feature selections for use in a Citrix environment.

    Advanced

    Select the option Install to this PC (the default).
  7. Click Install Now.

Publish Reflection to a Citrix Presentation Server

Follow the steps below to publish the Reflection executable files to the Citrix Presentation Server environment.

Note: The following procedure applies to Citrix Presentation Server 4.5. Please refer to your Citrix Presentation Server documentation for further details.

To publish Reflection applications

  1. From the Start menu, choose Programs > Citrix> Management Consoles > Access Management Console.
  2. Expand the appropriate server farm node, and then right-click the Applications node.
  3. From the context menu, click New > Publish Application.
  4. On the Welcome panel, click Next.
  5. On the Publish Application wizard Name panel, in the Display name field, enter a name for the published resource, and then click Next.
  6. To publish an application, on the Type panel, make sure that the Application option is selected, and then click Next.
  7. On the Location panel, in the Command line field, browse to Attachmate.Emulation.Frame.exe, click OK, and then click Next.
  8. On the Servers panel, click Add, select the servers to host the published application, and then click Next.
  9. On the Users panel, select the users to which you want to provide access to the published source, and then click Next.
  10. To configure advanced application settings, on the Publish immediately panel, select Configure advanced application settings now, and then select the desired advanced settings (for example, the session window size and colors).
  11. Click Finish.
