Introduction

This guide is for programmers who want to create custom applications in a .NET development environment using the application programmer interface (API) for Attachmate Reflection 2008. The .NET Framework is the Microsoft managed-code technology used for building applications that have visually stunning user experiences, seamless and secure communication, and the ability to model a range of business processes.

Each task in this guide provides sample programs for IBM and OpenSystems terminal sessions. OpenSystems refers to UNIX, OpenVMS, and ReGIS Graphics terminal emulations (also referred to as VT terminal emulations in the Reflection 2008 product and Help). For syntax and usage information, see the .NET API Help (available from the Reflection 2008 Help menu).

Note: You can successfully install and run Reflection 2008 and the API on a 64-bit operating system. However, because Reflection 2008 is a 32-bit application, the API supports only 32-bit custom applications.
