Syntax object.ShowDBCSHostCodeInputWindow HostCode

Description

Displays the Host Code dialog box which allows users to transmit any double-byte character, including user-defined characters (UDC), to the host. Use this dialog box to transmit characters to the host using the IBM host DBCS code values. Note: These values are not equivalent to the standard Windows DBCS code values. When the user clicks the Host Code dialog box OK button, the code value entered by the user is transmitted directly to the host.

The HostCode argument determines whether the Host Code dialog box prompts for decimal or hexadecimal character codes. For example, the following statement displays the Host Code dialog box and prompts for a decimal code value:

ShowDBCSHostCodeInputWindow rcDecimalCode

Arguments

HostCode Argument Type: Enumeration
Specifies whether the Host Code dialog box uses decimal or hexadecimal character codes.

 rcDecimalCode

The dialog box uses decimal character codes. To determine decimal character codes, subtract x4000 from the hexadecimal code value and convert the results to the decimal equivalent. For example, if the hexadecimal code value is x4040, the correct decimal code is 64.

 rcHexCode

The dialog box uses hexadecimal character codes.
