When you choose New ID, a series of pages guides you through selecting options for your ID.
- In the New ID page, specify a Host Type, ID Name, ID Type, and Host Name for your ID.
The host type you select determines the ID naming conventions and ID types available to you. For example, IDs for 5250 sessions cannot begin with a number, and some hosts require hexadecimal values under ID Name. Regardless of the host type, the ID name you specify cannot include spaces or commas. If you select a UTS host type, the only ID Type available is Application.
If you select Range or Advanced Generation, you can automatically generate a range of IDs based on the information you specify. Under Range, you can pad the start value by prefixing additional zeros, for example, you could start with 00100.
The remaining pages in this series depend on your selections in the New ID page. To get help on any page in the series, choose the Help button in the displayed page.
