Exporting Events

If you have installed the enterprise version of MCS, you can export the event log to an external file so that it can be readily opened by another program. For example, you might want to import events information to a spreadsheet or reporting tool.

To export the events log
In the MCS left pane under Services, click Events. Under Events, click View Events. In the View Events page, select an item in the Product tree. Only the events for the selected product or category are included in the file you save when you export. From the toolbar, choose the Export button. In the Export Events dialog box, navigate to the location to which you want to export the events. Provide a filename and select a format for the exported file, and then click Save. You can select from among three file types, one formatted for reporting, one for spreadsheets, and MCS Event Format XML. The MCS Event Format XML file type provides an XML file with no corresponding schema. For details on any of the options on the View Events page, click Help in the upper-right corner of the page while it is displayed.

To export the events log
